How come only mixed and light skinned black girls considered attractive?

I am white European, I have never voted in any beauty contest or anything similar. I do not find black African features attractive. That is not to say they are not attractive, as beauty is subjective and another person may find then extremely attractive. The Western media is mainly dominated by white European descendants as would be expected. If the competition were held in Africa with only african descendants voting, then I would expect a black african to win. Although recent research suggests males black and white prefer a paler skin (and this even transfers to Asian countries) a lighter skinned female would win. Has a beauty contest ever been held excluding all but black africans and or their descendants? Maybe it's time there was.
