Constipation in infant?

Can constipation in a 9 week old baby be dangerous? My baby is on soy and I've been doing the Karo thing to EVERY bottle as instructed by my Ped. and does not help! He goes every other day and they are solid pebbles, but are NOT dry, and he does not cry or anything ping the stool, and not being gross but I can mush the stool if I push on it. Just been worrying about this for quite sometime and just does not seem right to me, even though Ped. said it's ok, and just want to make sure I am doing the right thing! Any suggestions?
