Did President Obama break the law when he interfered with the due process of professor Gates case?

I think the only reason the case was dropped was white house pressure. Should the Attorney General Look into the allegations? I don't care if either party is guilty of anything. I just want to know if you think President Obama broke the law and interfered in the case.
